President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo is now officially a grandpa after his eldest son Gibran Rakabuming and daughter-in-law Selvi Ananda welcomed their first child today.
Based on information from sources in the State Palace, Kompas reported that the baby boy – whose name has not yet been revealed – was born in Jokowi’s hometown of Solo, Central Java, at 9am today.
The news was also confirmed by Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung to State Palace reporters.
Jokowi is expected to head over to Solo this afternoon to meet his grandson for the first time.
Gibran and Selvi wed almost exactly 9 months ago on June 11, 2015 in Solo.
