If the power at your home or office suddenly cut out this afternoon, your area was probably affected by a recent power station fire.
Fire spread through the main PLN power station in Kembangan, West Jakarta, just before noon today, causing power cuts throughout Jakarta and Tangerang.
“PLN apologizes for the disruption in service and the power outage in several districts in Jakarta and Tangerang,” said PT PLN Communications Manager Koesdianto, as quoted by Detik today.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
These are the areas that were and/or are still affected by the forced shutdown of the Kembangan power station:
Kedoya, Kp. Gondrong, Ciledug, Kembangan, Kebon Jeruk, Meruya, Cipondoh, Poris Indah, Daan Mogot, Cipulir, Kebayoran Lama, Joglo, Permata Hijau, Gandaria City, Alam Sutera, Curug, Gading Serpong, Legok, Karawaci, Jl. Raya Serang, Cikupa, Jl. Gajah Tunggal, Jl. Industri Jatake, Jatiuwung, Pasar Kemis, Cikupa, Tiga Raksa.
