A policeman in Indonesia is winning the hearts of the nation for going above and beyond the call of duty with a dance number for the ages.

In a video tweeted by the National Police’s Public Relations Division recently, an unnamed cop is seen busting moves, with choreography that looks like it was inspired by Michael Jackson’s Thriller, to help volunteers collect money on the street for victims of December’s deadly tsunami in Lampung and Banten provinces.

The National Police did not reveal much info about the groovy cop, or indeed where this video was taken, but the officer has been winning praise for showing a friendlier side to the police that people generally don’t get to see.

The police are fun, not intimidating like they used to be. Hopefully they’ll grow closer to the people.

Even though the officer’s waistline needs conditioning, his moves were very smooth. Cool.

The Sunda Strait tsunami, which officials say was triggered by a volcanic eruption, killed at least 400 people and injured thousands in coastal towns in the provinces of Lampung and Banten in late December. Thousands more have been displaced from homes destroyed by the huge waves.

Though you may not be able to donate directly to the fundraiser the dancing cop was helping, you can still donate money, clothes and other essentials to tsunami survivors through these charity organizations below:
