Christopher Sjarif, the 23-year-old car rampage suspect who caused a series of deadly traffic accidents on Jalan Sultan Iskandar Muda in Pondok Indah, will soon appear in court as the police are currently finalizing their investigation into the incident.

“We want to proceed [to court] as quickly as possible, two weeks from now at the latest,” said Grand Comr Wahyu Hadiningrat, head of the South Jakarta Police, as quoted by Tempo today.

Christopher drove and crashed his friend’s Mitsubishi Outlander to several vehicles in Pondok Indah on January 20, killing four motorists in the process. He had initially tested positive for LSD use, but the police officially retracted the test result a week later.

Christopher was charged with violating several Traffic Laws and could face up to 12 years in prison.
