Jakarta Police Spokesperson Grand Comm Martinus Sitompul said the Police Disciplinary Department (Propam) is investigating the officers suspected to have received the bribes.
But at this point, it’s unclear how many of the offenders the police have identified so far.
“There are some [who have been identified]. But we’re still investigating. Some things need to be cross-checked,” Martinus said today, as quoted by Berita Satu.
If proven guilty, Martinus said the officers would be sanctioned internally.
“We’ll give them internal sanctions or ethical code sanctions. They could be disciplined, warned, or even discharged dishonorably. We’re waiting on the results of the investigation from Propam,” he said.
