Police in Sukabumi, West Java, have arrested a woman, identified by her initials AK, for allegedly planning the murder of her husband and stepson, whose charred remains were recovered from a burning car. According to investigators, the woman hired four men to carry out the vicious crime and was assisted by her 35-year-old biological son, identified as KV.
The corpses of their two alleged victims, AK’s 54-year-old husband Edi Chandra Purnama and her 23-year-old stepson M. Adi Pradana, were found in a burning car outside of a gas station in South Jakarta on Sunday. After the police’s initial investigation, AK and KV were arrested on Monday.
“Four hitmen were hired by suspect AK to kill the victims. Both were executed at the home (of M. Adi Pradana). After that, the corpses were taken by the perpetrators (by car) to Cirendeu gas station (in South Tangerang) on Sunday morning, ” Sukabumi Police Chief Nasriadi told Detik today.
According to Nasriadi, AK was the mastermind of the sadistic murder case. He said the hitmen went to the home of M. Adi Pradana’s house in Lebak Bulus, South Jakarta, on Friday and killed him along with his father, Edi. They then placed the bodies in a car which was later retrieved by AK and KV, who drove the car to a road near a gas station, doused it in gasoline and set it on fire.
After the burning car was discovered by local residents, foul play was immediately suspected as the corpses were found placed in the second and third-row seats of the vehicle.
Police said they were still investigating the case and trying to track down the four men allegedly hired by AK to carry out the killings. They have not yet revealed a possible motive for the crime.
