Further evidence that real world Jakarta is slowly transforming into “The Raid” version of Jakarta…
A drug dealer was arrested by members of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) after he tried to flee from them by driving straight through one of the officer. His hit-and-run attempt was answered with a hail of gunfire.
The incident began when BNN personnel started tracking two suspects, identified by their initials LAY and WW, in the area of Kebun Jeruk in West Jakarta on Wednesday afternoon. Police suspected both of possessing large amounts methamphetamine.
“LAY we had already caught. WW fled by car. His car was directed at an officer,” BNN spokesman Slamet Pribadi told Kompas via SMS today.
Not taking any chances, the BNN officer dodged the car then fired several bullets in WW’s direction.
WW finally surrendered after officers pursued him. He was then taken to BNN headquarters.
“From both suspects we seized evidence in the form of methamphetamines weighing one kilogram,” Slamet said.
Police are still investigating the case and looking for more suspects.
