A foul stench emanated from a parked car in the Terminal 2D parking lot in the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on Wednesday morning. Soleh, a passenger who happened to pass by, decided to peek into the tinted windows of the car.

Inside, Soleh found the lifeless body of a woman sitting in the passenger seat. Soleh then immediately alerted security guards and policemen in the area.

The police found that the car was locked from the outside. When they managed to open the car door, the victim’s body was rotting and unidentifiable, as records show the car had been parked there since Saturday.

Merdeka.com reported that police initially thought the body belonged to 15-year-old Anggia Faradira, as her student ID was found inside the car. After further investigation, police concluded that the victim was actually Anggia’s 42-year-old mother, Sri Wahyuni.

“Yes, we initially thought [the victim was] Anggia. It turned out after thorough investigation the victim is actually her mother, 42-year-old Sri Wahyuni,” said Head of Public Relations at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Police, AKP Agus Sunarto.

The police have not been able to determine the cause of Sri Wahyuni’s death.

After the victim’s identity was confirmed by the police, Sri’s best friend, 39-year-old Rita Agustina, revealed to the press that Sri was found dead on the day she was supposed to attend the second day of her divorce hearing.

“She was supposed to go to her second divorce hearing on Wednesday. I can’t tell you why [they’re getting divorced]. It’s a personal issue. I don’t want to disrespect the dead,” Rita said, as quoted by Warta Kota

Sri Wahyuni left behind her husband, Yan Siregar (42), and two children, Yopie (18) and Anggia (15).
