A man with the initials GKH, who also has the nickname Ahok, was arrested on Tuesday for owning an online soccer gambling ring. His illegal business was so lucrative that he made around Rp 500 million each month.
Police arrested the 42-year-old at his home in Sunter Agung, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta.
“He’s been running this gambling business for about a year,” said Didik Sugiarto of the Public Crimes Investigation Unit at the Jakarta Police, as quoted by Warta Kota yesterday.
The police confiscated Rp 37 million in cash from Ahok’s house, as well as mobile phones and bank statements for evidence.
