Passengers can now track Transjakarta buses using two new apps, Go Busway and Qlue Transit

Public transportation in Jakarta is about to get a whole lot more convenient with the launch of two new smartphone programs.

The first, Go Busway, if you haven’t guessed already, is a feature built into the Go-Jek app that lets users see Transjakarta bus schedules and track the buses in real time (because we all know buses in the city rarely adhere to their own schedules).

The other app is Qlue Transit. Not only designed to track Transjakarta buses real time, the app can also let users know how crowded Transjakarta bus terminals are using crowdsourced information.

But it’s Qlue Transit’s potential that really excites us. According to PT Transjakarta First Director Antonius NS Kosasih, the app going to be developed so that it can track all kinds of public transportation in Jakarta and suggest to its user which ones to take to get from one point to another.

“Soon, all public transportation in Jakarta can be tracked using the Qlue Transit app. Users can plan their journeys in Jakarta using this app, they can choose the route and whichever public transportation vehicles to take,” Antonius said during the Go Busway and Qlue Transit launch event in City Hall yesterday, as quoted by BeritaSatu

Both Qlue Transit and Go Busway are still in their beta build and are only currently able to track Transjakarta buses on 8 corridors. They’re also only available on Android devices, but Antonius promised that they will be available on Apple iOS in the coming weeks.
