Parking attendants stab two Go-Jek drivers for refusing to pay parking fee, one dies

A group of parking attendants at a karaoke joint in Mall Sunter in Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, allegedly beat up and stabbed two Go-Jek drivers yesterday afternoon, killing one.

The drivers were identified as Septiyan, 20, and his older brother Suhardi. According to the police, the incident began when two parking attendants demanded Suhardi pay them a parking fee for hanging out on their turf.

Suhardi refused because he hadn’t yet picked up a passenger at the time. Angered, the two parking attendants physically assaulted Suhardi, who then called on Septiyan for help.

The parking attendants responded by calling more of their friends to help. Totally outnumbered, the brothers were severely beaten and stabbed.

The parking attendants immediately fled the scene after Suhardi and Septiyan were down. Suhardi managed to carry his brother to a nearby hospital, but sadly Septiyan died from his injuries.

“His (Septiyan’s) life couldn’t be saved because the stabbing severed an artery in his left thigh and he died from the loss of blood,” said AKP Tihar, head of the Criminal Investigation Unit at the Tanjung Priok Police, as quoted by Okezone yesterday.

Suhardi also received severe injuries and was treated at the same hospital.

The police say they already have the identities of the two parking attendants and are in the process of hunting them down.
