WS, 30, was lucky to escape a brutal mob beating alive last night after he was caught stealing a woman’s underwear from a kost in Jalan Kebon Kacang, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta.
At the time, the kost’s security guard, Wisnu, spotted on his CCTV monitor that WS had broken into the kost.
“When he saw the CCTV the guard was shocked to see that there was a man on the second floor who was trying to steal a water pump compressor, and strangely, he was carrying a woman’s underwear,” said Mustakim, head of the Crime Investigation Unit at the Tanah Abang Police, as quoted by Okezone today.
Wisnu then went to chase WS who tried to make his escape, but was thwarted by locals who came to Wisnu’s aid.
And, as is unfortunately the norm in Indonesia, an angry mob converged to hand down their own form of brutal justice to WS.
Luckily, a police officer was passing by the area and stopped the beating before it became fatal for WS.
According to the police, WS has previously broken into and stole from several kosts in the area, but yesterday was apparently the first time he stole a panty.
