Pancasila University students get into destructive inter-faculty war for hours over noisy motorcycle

We know it can be pretty annoying when idiots obnoxiously rev their motorcycle engines because they’re insecure and need attention. But somehow last night, this annoying behaviour led Pancasila University students from two faculties to start a full blown riot on their campus in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta.

“It was just because the law students were revving their motorcycles in front of the engineering students, which made them upset. [The engineering students] then burned two cars belonging to law students,” said Siswanto, head of Operations at the South Jakarta Police, as quoted by Republika today.

Yep, it escalated that quickly. The engineering students actually burned a Toyota Rush and Toyota Avanza during the brawl.

The brawl reportedly broke out in waves, the first one going from 5pm to 6pm. There were at least two more incidents throughout the evening, until the police deployed 250 personnel and put an end to the inter-faculty war at around 2am today.

It’s unknown how many students were involved in the brawl, and so far there have been no reports of any casualties or arrests.

Several images on Twitter showed the extent of the damage from the brawl, which included damage to university property as well:
