Owner of domestic helper agency accused of sexually assaulting 3 underage women before prostituting them

Many young women come to the capital from all over Indonesia with looking for work and they often end up at domestic helper agencies, where they can find shelter and hope for potential employment.

Instead of helping the domestic helpers, one agency, Yayasan Setia Karya, which is located in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, allegedly sexually exploited three women – all minors.

The agency’s owner, a man identified by his initials SM, allegedly sold the sexual services of three teenagers, HY (17), IS (17), and EM (15) to café owners like MS in Kosambi, Tangerang. That is after SM forced the teenagers to please him sexually as well.

“When SM dropped off victim HY to MS’ place, the suspect (MS) performed sexual acts – as a married couple would – twice,” said Siswa Yuwono, head of the Crime Investigation Unit at the Central Jakarta Police, as quoted by Okezone yesterday.

The victims were paid around Rp 150,000 for each sexual act.

Both SM and MS are currently in police custody, but it’s not clear at this point what criminal charges they will face.
