The 48,000 workers will converge at the Hotel Indonesia Roundabout tomorrow morning.
You may want to plan your journeys within the city ahead of time tomorrow, because the Confederation of Indonesian Workers’ Union (KSPI) is predicting that 48,000 workers will be attending their rally in Jakarta tomorrow.
KSPI Chairman Said Iqbal said they would begin their rally at the Hotel Indonesia Roundabout tomorrow morning.
“48,000 will follow [the rally]. We’re doing a long march from Hotel Indonesia Roundabout to the State Palace, the Health Ministry, and Jakarta City Hall,” Said Iqbal said, as quoted by Warta Kota today.
The workers plan to express their disappointment at the rupiah’s weakening against the US Dollar in particular. They believe it has led to an unstable economy in which the prices of goods are soaring which could put their jobs at risk.
