“Oops, something went wrong” reads a prompt reported by many in Indonesia and beyond upon accessing Grab’s services this morning, but the superapp says normal service is gradually being restored.
Indonesian users of the app took to social media to say that their morning commute and breakfast orders were disrupted as Grab’s ride-hailing and food delivery services were among those that were inaccessible today.
Grab, which did not provide an explanation as to the cause for the rare disruption, said the matter is being resolved.
Dear para pelanggan Grab, saat ini aplikasi Grab sedang mengalami gangguan sehingga tidak bisa diakses seperti biasa. Tim Grab sedang menanganinya & akan menginfokan ketika aplikasi sudah aktif kembali.

Mohon maaf atas ketidaknyamanannya & terima kasih kesabarannya. 🙏
“The Grab app is currently experiencing problems so it can’t be accessed normally. The Grab team is handling the matter and we will notify users when the service is active once again,” the tweet above reads.
Coconuts experienced the disruption in Jakarta earlier this morning, but the app is back up and running as of this article’s publication time. Many Indonesian users have also reported online that they can now use the app without a hitch, indicating that the service is being gradually restored across the board.
Similar disruptions were also reported in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines this morning. While most users have the privilege of switching to Grab’s rival apps, it’s unclear at this point how this temporary outage affected partner drivers’ earnings and the company’s bottomline.
