Older man stabs teen girlfriend 60 times, jumps to death out of 23rd story apartment

Two seemingly unrelated deaths in two different locations yesterday turned out to be caused by one man who was not happy with his teen girlfriend who was almost half his age.

The first victim was 19-year-old Amanda Fransiska Santhosa. She was found dead with 60 stab wounds in Golden Sky Hotel in Jalan Pluit Kencana, North Jakarta yesterday.

“After our investigation we determined the murder motive was that the suspect became jealous because of the victim,” said Grand Comr Kus Sugiantoro, head of the Penjaringan Police Dept, as quoted by Kompas yesterday.

Kus said the victim was dating the suspect, 37-year-old Toni Rusli.

“They had been dating for a year,” he said.

“The victim’s family said they were just friends, but after a thorough investigation in which we asked the victim’s friends, it was clear they were dating.”

Before the murder, Toni often spoke to Amanda’s friends about her behavior.

“The suspect confided in the victim’s friend that Amanda has changed and that she didn’t open herself up anymore,” Kus said.

This disappointment led to Toni planning the eventual murder of Amanda in Golden Sky Hotel yesterday.Unfortunately, Toni himself committed suicide yesterday afternoon before the police could apprehend him. The murder suspect jumped out of the 23rd story of the Lavende Apartments in Tebet, South Jakarta.
