A newlywed bride in Bogor, West Java, identified as AA (21), has gone missing under perplexing circumstances, prompting an ongoing investigation by the Rancabungur Police.
Reports say AA vanished just a day after her wedding on June 27. Her family raised the alarm, leading to a search for clues into her sudden disappearance. Authorities have shared details of the case, shedding light on the peculiar circumstances surrounding the incident.
The Rancabungur Police Chief Hartant revealed that AA’s mother received a cryptic WhatsApp message from her daughter via an unfamiliar number on Tuesday. The message contained a photo of AA wearing a mask, claiming to be in Jakarta.
However, attempts to contact the number were futile as it was already inactive.
Hartanto disclosed that AA had assured her family of her well-being, stating, “Mom, don’t worry, I love you.”
Both the police and AA’s family had planned to trace her whereabouts using the provided number. Unfortunately, their efforts were impeded by the sudden demise of her phone.
While no conclusive evidence of abduction has surfaced, the police are treating this as a missing person case. Hartanto clarified that the report centers on AA voluntarily leaving her home. If AA is found, further investigations will focus on determining if any criminal elements were involved.
The incident unfolded on June 27 when AA’s husband reported her disappearance to the authorities.
As per his statement, AA had placed an order for ayam geprek (spicy fried chicken) through a cash-on-delivery (COD) system on June 26. She had been waiting for the delivery in an alley near her residence but never returned, leaving her phone unreachable.
Hartanto emphasized that the police are still investigating AA’s disappearance.
