Following the Tanah Abang KRL Commuterline train station being shut down this morning after it became the target of rioters in Central Jakarta, another major train hub, MRT Jakarta’s Bundaran HI station, is also closing for the day amid fears of further unrest from election protests in the capital today.
MRT Jakarta this afternoon announced the closing of Bundaran HI station via its social media channels. The station has been shut from 1:30pm to midnight today and is expected to reopen tomorrow.

MRT trains coming in from Lebak Bulus station will make their final stop at Dukuh Atas BNI station, which is one stop away from Bundaran HI station. All other stations are operating normally.
The sudden announcement of Bundaran HI’s temporary closure will undoubtedly leave many workers in the downtown commercial hub needing alternate forms of transport home this afternoon. While many offices in the area have shut today in anticipation of the protests, some remain open.
