Anybody who’s driven on Jalan TB Simatupang during rush hour knows about the macet nightmare there. Things have actually gotten worse recently with the numerous road works on Jalan TB Simatupang.
To alleviate some of the traffic congestion, the South Jakarta transportation agency is now allowing motorcycles to enter the adjacent Jakarta Outer Ring Road (JORR) toll road at certain hours.
“The road in front of Citos (Cilandak Town Square) mall is so narrow because there’s currently work being done to widen the road. While we wait for that to complete, we’re allowing cars and motorcycles to drive on the toll road to alleviate traffic,” said Priyanto, head of South Jakarta’s Transportation Agency, as quoted by Metro TV.
Cars and motorcycles can drive on the toll road free of charge from 6 am to 9 am on weekdays. Vehicles can enter the toll road from in front of Citos and exit 600 meters ahead, just in front of the Lamborghini showroom.
This traffic redirection will be in effect until December this year.
