A realistic looking airsoft gun
We’ve seen quite a few stories about criminals in possession of guns in the past few months. Considering how difficult it is to acquire firearms in Indonesia, we’ve often wondered how these criminals are getting their hands on them.
Of course, often times the guns these criminals have may not be real guns at all, but simply very realistic fake or toy guns. Which may work well at scaring regular people, but not so much with the police, who are definitely carrying real firearms.
That was the lessoned learned by a motorcycle thief who had been terrorising parts of East Jakarta for the last few months.
“Yesterday we caught the suspect, who commonly operates in the area of Duren Sawit,” said Duren Sawit Police Chief Johannes Kindange today, as quoted by Vivanews.
Johannes said the suspect was known for being able to steal motorcycles quickly, usually needing no more than 5 minutes to make off with his stolen goods. He would then sell them off in Cikarang or Karawang. The police chief said the suspect had already confessed to stealing dozens of motorcycles.
After capturing the suspect, police found the suspect had used a toy pistol to help facilitate his crimes. They also found nine T keys and 2 magnetic keys, as well as a motorcycle ignition.
