Mother finds missing son’s note, which hints that he joined terrorist group

Dewi Tresnasih (47), suspected that her mysteriously missing son Danny Ashri Fajar Purba (21) left to join a terrorist group. Now she has found a piece of clue supporting her suspicions.

Danny, who was an Arabic Literature student at Universitas Indonesia, left his apartment in Margonda, Depok, almost without a trace. But what he left behind has provided the biggest clue yet as to his whereabouts.

“I was cleaning up Danny’s apartment. I was getting rid of a few things and papers that were no longer needed. At that time I found Danny’s campus notes,” Dewi told Warta Kota yesterday.

Dewi was shocked to find a note that talked about a war in which a soldier has to kill his enemies.

“I know Danny’s handwriting very well. This is Danny’s handwriting and it’s the same as the others. But in this note, the content is worrying because it talks about a war and a soldier who is ready to destroy his enemies,” Dewi said.

She found it strange that Danny would write about war, as she doesn’t recall Danny ever expressing an interest on the military or war before.

This was the note found in Danny’s apartment:

A soldier received orders to attack his enemy in the dark of the night, a night as dark as black coffee. He accepted the task without hesitation. Then, in a dusty and sandy place, he readied his weapon. His gaze was as sharp as a knife. He saw his enemies from afar, looking like prey. He’s ready to fire like a lion that’s ready to pounce on his prey. One by one, he shoots down his enemies like someone picking flowers in a garden. His enemies ran around scattered like flies. He knew this task was like climbing a tall mountain.
