Massive fire crawls up multiple floors in uninhabited Neo Soho apartment building, one worker injured

Several floors of the Neo Soho apartment building, located by the Central Park superblock in Tanjung Duren, West Jakarta, were engulfed in flame on Wednesday evening.

Luckily, the building, which is still under construction, is uninhabited. However, one construction worker was reportedly injured during the fire.

According to the Jakarta Metro Police, the fire may have begun on the building’s P9 parking floor and crawled up dozens of floors.

“The fire started at around 8:30 pm, firefighters have gone up to the 30th floor of the building to reach the fire,” said Jakarta Metro Police Spokesman Awi Setiyono, as quoted by Kompas yesterday evening.

Below are some dramatic images of the fire that have circulated on social media.
