Mario Steven Ambarita is the 21-year-old man who managed to stowaway in the landing gear of a Garuda Indonesia flight from Pekanbaru to Jakarta and somehow survive the one-hour trip yesterday.
It was already known that Mario went through with his mad plan because he was desperate to get to Jakarta but didn’t have the money for a plane ticket. We also knew that he wanted to come to Jakarta because he wanted to meet with President Joko Widodo.
Now we know the alleged reason why Mario wanted to meet Jokowi so badly. Mario wanted the president to make him a minister. No, not the Minister of Transportation, but the Coordinating Minister for People’s Welfare (Menkokesra).
“The concerned wanted to meet President Jokowi to ask, why can’t I be put in charge of Menkokesra,” said the director general of civil aviation at the Ministry of Transportation, Suprasetyo as quoted by Tribunnews.
He added that Mario wanted to become the Menkokesra so that he could help improve the lives of his countrymen. Mario said he had studied hard and deserved a government position in the cabinet.
While Mario is more likely to go to a mental health facility than a government ministry, we can’t help but wonder how much worse of a job he would do than current Menkokesra Puan Maharani…
