Most people are grateful after being hired for a new job. Not 39-year-old Sim On Thin A.K.A Amin, though.
Amin had just been hired for an hour at a shirt-producing factory in Tambora, West Jakarta when his boss, the factory owner, entrusted him with a simple delivery job.
Amin was supposed to deliver a bunch of shirts to customers using his boss’ Honda Supra X motorcycle.
“The shirts weren’t delivered, but taken by the suspect to his rented house in Angke,” said Tambora Police Department Chief Dedy Tabrani, as quoted by Warta Kota yesterday.
Amin then returned to the factory and asked his boss if he could spend the night at the factory. His boss, oblivious to what Amin has done and what he plans to do, agreed.
The next morning, the factory was locked shut and the Honda Supra X was gone. The factory owner reported the theft to the police.
The police eventually located the suspect at his house in Dukuh Lebak, Banten, where his wife and two daughters, aged five and seven, were counting up the stolen shirts they were going to sell.
Amin was arrested for theft and is currently behind bars at the Tambora Police Department.
