The Living World mall in the Alam Sutera district of South Tangerang was the scene of an apparent suicide yesterday.
The victim, identified as 40-year-old Eddy Okadi Chandra, reportedly plunged to his death from the 8th floor of the mall’s parking lot.
A witness says he saw Eddy heading up to the 8th floor before the apparent suicide.
“A cleaner saw the victim walk alone on the 7th floor of the parking lot going to the 8th floor. He looked to be in a hurry,” said South Tangerang Police Spokesman AKP Mansuri, as quoted by Okezone.
After Eddy fell, the cleaner came down to the ground floor to identify that the body was of the same man he saw heading up to the 8th floor earlier.
The police are now investigating into the case and have not yet officially ruled Eddy’s death a suicide.
Incidentally, a 28-year-old man also committed suicide by jumping from 8th floor of the mall’s parking lot in April this year.
