A man proved he would to go to all lengths to avenge the heinous crime that was committed to his daughter. Even if it means to literally blow up the man who raped her.
Eko Suprapto built a homemade bomb to kill Cece,a man who had raped his daughter twice in the past but who was never reported to the police.
“With the knowledge that he had, he built his own bomb in the evenings where he worked. He used to build bombs for fishing in his previous work,” said Unggung Cahyono, head of the Jakarta Police, as quoted by Vivanews yesterday.
Eko built the bomb inside a shoebox and wrapped it with giftwrap to disguise the bomb. It had a small explosion capacity, but could’ve been fatal for anyone who opens it.
“The manual switch detonator was made from a light bulb, with a wire attached to it. If the box is opened, the negative and positive charges meet and the bomb would explode,” Unggung said.
Eko finished his bomb on Saturday, February 21. Along with a female friend, he drove to Cece’s garage in Bekasi to drop off his bomb.
There, Eko paid Rp 50k to Tasrif, a parking attendant, to deliver the package to Cece. Tasrif, however, handed the package over to Anton, Cece’s son, instead.
“Anton [grew suspicious] as he could see wires inside the package, so he took it to the police,” Unggung said.
Eko, who realized he failed his mission, turned himself in to the Bekasi Police.
There, he revealed everything about the bomb, but also finally reported the sexual assaults Cece committed to his daughter.
“We will investigate into Eko’s claims. We have arrested Cece so he can be interrogated about the alleged [rape] case,” Unggung said.
Eko could’ve gone to much less trouble to bring Cece to justice had he just reported Cece to the police in the first place. But now, he is facing four to 20 years in prison for violating anti terrorism laws.
“Everything is for my daughter’s happiness, I would do anything,” Eko said before the police locked him up.
