Buckets: turning neighbors against each other since 2015
How pissed off do you have to be to justify stabbing your neighbor in the armpit? One man in North Jakarta did just that after his neighbor hogged a communal bucket.
32-year-old Andryan of Cilincing, North Jakarta, was about to shower to get ready for work yesterday, when he noticed that the homestay’s communal bucket for showering was missing. It turned out his neighbor, 25-year-old Isgandi, was using the bucket for something else.
“I had been waiting for the bucket for ages, but he (Isgandi) used it to clean a fan instead. After he used it, he didn’t clean the bucket, he just left it dirty,” Adryan told Cilincing Police Dept detectives yesterday, as quoted by Warta Kota.
Upset, Andryan said he picked up a knife and pointed it at Isgandi. Feeling threatened, Isgandi then punched Andryan out of self-defense and knocked him down on the floor.
“At that time, the suspect got even angrier and stabbed the kitchen knife into the victim’s left armpit,” said Edi Purnawan, head of the Cilincing Police Dept.
Before the brawl turned deadly, locals in the area came in and separated the two. The bleeding victim was taken to a nearby hospital.
Andryan, meanwhile, was taken to the police station, and is now facing up to five years in prison.
