Lion Air denies asking passengers to choose delay or safety in tweet

Lion Air has dominated the news lately for their three-day long flight delays last week. But did they really try to justify their flight delays with a tweet on February 26 saying passengers should choose between delays or passenger safety?

The screenshot reads: Tweeps, for your flight, which do you choose: flight delays or never making it to your destination? J Good night.

The above is a screenshot of the tweet from the account @OfficialLionAir. It appears to be a hoax as the account was soon deleted after the tweet. Furthermore, Lion Air’s official Twitter account has always been @LionAirID.

Daniel Putut, Lion Air’s Airport Operation and Services Director denied the airline’s involvement in the tweet.

“I asked the management and this Twitter [account] doesn’t exist,” Daniel said, as quoted by Tempo today.
