Endah Suprapti is clinging on to life after a Lamborghini, which was driving on the wrong side of the road, crashed against her motorcycle on Sunday.

Endah is still being treated at the Intensive Care Unit at Mitra Keluarga Kelapa Gading Hospital in North Jakarta.

“My wife’s condition is still weak, especially since she was in a coma yesterday afternoon. Until now, she can’t speak even though she’s conscious,” Endah’s wife, Sutrisno, told BeritaSatu yesterday.

Sutrisno explained that, according to the doctor, both sides of Endah’s lungs were punctured and that her ribs broke in 10 places. In addition, she broke her left leg and has a fracture on her cranium.

Sutrisno said the Lamborghini driver, Roby (previously reported as Liles), has promised to cover all of Endah’s medical expenses. Because of this, Sutrisno won’t personally file charges against Roby.

Nevertheless, the North Jakarta Police charged Roby for dangerous driving which led to Endah’s predicament.

“We have named the driver as a suspect. We’re also awaiting urine test results [for drugs] after we interrogated the suspect for a long time at the precinct,” said Sudarmanto, head of the Traffic Unit at the North Jakarta Police.

Roby could face a minimum of 5 years in prison for his crime.

On Sunday afternoon, Roby inexplicably drove his white Lamborghini on the wrong side of the road in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta. He crashed his car into Endah, who was driving her motorcycle home from work. Roby tried to take the coward’s way out by telling authorities that the car’s passenger, a man named Liles, was behind the wheel. During police interrogations however, Roby eventually confessed to be the one who drove the car.

Infuriatingly, according to the Jakarta Globe, the police didn’t arrest Roby after the incident and that they are keeping him “secure” instead – though the police didn’t elaborate on what securing him means. We’re hoping that the rich won’t get preferential treatment once again, like we suspect happened with the driver who killed 4 people in Pondok Indah earlier this year and managed to get off without having to serve any jail time.

At this point, there are conflicting media reports on whether Roby will only be charged with reckless driving resulting in injuries, or if the fact that his Lamborghini didn’t have the proper registrations will also be considered in his eventual sentencing.
