As we reported before, the KRL Commuterline is today implementing its new distance-based fare system to replace the previous station-based system.
The new fare breakdown is as follows:
Rp 2,000 for the first 25 km travelled;
Rp 1,000 for every subsequent 10 km travelled.
In addition, passengers now have to pay Rp 10,000 in deposit for the daily KRL tickets, double the previous deposit of Rp 5,000.
Multi-trip card owners are required to have a minimum of Rp 11,000 in their account in order to be able to access KRL facilities. This is also an increase from the previous minimum credit of Rp 7,000.
Will you end up paying more or less for your commute under this new fare system?
