KRL Commuterline train derailed between Manggarai and Sudirman stations this morning

If you regularly commute to Central Jakarta (particularly Sudirman) using the KRL Commuterline, you may want to look for alternative modes of transport this morning.

KRL Commuterline operators, PT KCJ, confirmed that one of its trains heading into Central Jakarta was derailed this morning.

“PT KCJ and PT KAI express our apologies for the disturbance in the Manggarai-Tanah Abang line due to the derailment of KRL KA 1717 that occurred at 6:18am between Manggarai and Sudirman [stations],” said PT KCJ Spokeswoman Eva Chairunisa, as quoted by Okezone this morning.

PT KCJ said there were no reports of casualties or injuries.

PT KCJ has shut one of the two railways for the Manggarai-Tanah Abang line in order to evacuate the derailed train. As such, trains going between the two stations are now taking turns to pass the available railway, which means that it has caused and will continue to cause delays throughout KRL Commuterline operations today.
