One by one, the leaders of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) are being hunted down for alleged criminal acts. The latest leader to be targeted is the cherry on top: KPK Chief Abraham Samad.
The Common Crimes Investigation Unit at the South and West Sulawesi Police (Polda Sulselbar) named Abraham Samad a suspect for falsifying legal documents.
“After investigation by the Crime Investigation Unit with investigators from Polda Sulselbar, Abraham Samad was named a suspect for falsifying documents. The indictment was made on February 9, 2015,” said Grand Comr Endi Sutendi, Polda Sulselbar spokesman, as quoted by Kompas today.
Endi said investigators found plenty of evidence of Abraham Samad falsifying documents for Feriyani Lim, including an ID card, passport, and family certificate. Feriyani is the woman who was allegedly photographed in bed together with Abraham in one of the KPK chief’s potential extramarital scandals.
“So far, investigators have questioned 23 witnesses from Immigration, District and Village officials, as well as others. In this case, Abraham Samad became head of the family to Feriyani Lim [in the falsified documents],” Endi said.
It was reported that Feriyani Lim, a Pontianak resident, needed a passport in 2007 to go overseas. As there was no online passport application service in Pontianak, she went to Makassar, where she admitted to being helped by the KPK Chief in procuring a passport.
