KPAI urging citizens to stop spreading child pornography video

Recently, Indonesians were shocked to hear the news that a couple of primary school children willingly let themselves be filmed while they had sex with each other. Even more disturbing, this video is being spread on the internet, and ordinary citizens are playing a big part in that.

The Commission for the Protection of Indonesian Children (KPAI) is urging citizens to stop spreading the video, while taking steps to limit its reach on the internet.

“The steps we’ve taken, up to this morning, are that the KPAI, with the help of ID-Cop Helpdesk (Indonesian Children Online Protection) have blocked the link to the child pornography video,” said KPAI Chief Asrorun Niam, as quoted by Detik today.

“If people can still access [the video] it’s because it has already been widely spread.”

KPAI is also reporting the video to the Cyber Crime Unit of the National Police and the Ministry of Communications and Information. They hope to receive assistance in tracking down the original uploader of the video.

Perhaps some citizens are curious or outraged by the nature of the video. But for the love of God, do not open the link if you receive it, let alone share it to the wider public. If you do for whatever reason, you are effectively enabling pedophilia.
