KPAI suspects serial hacker Maniak K4sur defaced their official website

Earlier today, the official website of the Commission for the Protection of Indonesian Children (KPAI) appeared to be hacked, with the media linking the act to KPAI’s public support for the government proposed ban on 15 video game titles deemed “dangerous for children”.

KPAI’s official website has now returned to normal. The commission also believes they know who hacked into their website.

“We know the name of the hacker, who we believe is still a child. The hacker goes by the name Maniak K4sur,” said Erlinda, head of KPAI’s Social Division, as quoted by Liputan 6 today.

Maniak K4sur appears to be some kind of a serial hacker and has had victims in Indonesia and abroad. According to Liputan 6, Maniak K4sur allegedly hacked the official website of Indonesia’s Constitutional Court in January of this year and the Indonesian Army’s official website in September last year.

Not only that, Maniak K4sur is also thought to be responsible for hacking into the official websites of two police departments in the US, namely in Fairfield, New Jersey, and Jasper County in Indiana.

KPAI did not disclose whether or not they know the true identity of Maniak K4sur.
