A recent survey said that an estimated 86% of Jakartans will leave the capital during the Lebaran holiday exodus next week. Apparently, Jakarta’s public healthcare workers are not going to be among them, bless their hearts.
The Jakarta Health Agency yesterday confirmed that the city’s public healthcare facilities would indeed stay open while everybody else is enjoying their Lebaran holiday.
“The 24 hour district clinic services as well as 24 hour emergency services at district and regional hospitals will remain open up to the collective leave days,” Jakarta Health Agency head Koesmedi Priharto Kusmedi wrote in a release, as picked up by Okezone.
All healthcare workers, including doctors, nurses, and ambulance drivers working for these public facilities will be put into working shifts throughout the holiday.
“They’re still going to go to work to give healthcare to the people,” Koesmedi wrote.
The Lebaran holiday, including collective leave days, falls from July 4-8 this year.
