A woman identified as 26-year-old VM, who practically broke the Indonesian internet when a video of her shopping in nothing but a thong at a Jakarta pharmacy went viral earlier this month, will not be criminally charged for her actions after the results of her psychological evaluation was released.

According to the police, after doing undergoing psychiatric evaluation at Kramat Jati Police Hospital, VM was ruled to be mentally unstable.

“The conclusion is she suffers from heavy mental conditions, or schizoaffective disorder,” said Taman Sari Police Chief Erick Frendriz, as quoted by Warta Kota today.

Schizoaffective disorder is a mental condition in which a person experiences a combination of schizophrenia symptoms such as hallucinations, delusions, depression, and mania. VM previously tested negative for illegal narcotics but authorities found traces of anxiety medication in her system which could have contributed to her behavior.

Persons suffering from mental illness are not held criminally liable for their actions in accordance with Article 44 of the Criminal Code.

Erick said VM will soon be returned to her family, and it’s expected that she will undergo psychological treatment.

On June 2, VM dominated Indonesian headlines after she was filmed in a viral video wearing nothing but a thong while shopping at a pharmacy in the Tamansari district of West Jakarta. On June 5, another video emerged of a woman walking down another street in Jakarta wearing nothing but a bra and police believe it is the same woman as she was sporting what appears to be the same tattoo on her back.

Police arrested VM on June 5 and previously said she could potentially be criminally charged for violating Indonesia’s controversial anti-pornography laws.
