While most kids probably watch porn secretly on their phones or home computers, these kids in Indonesia took a very big risk by watching porn in a classroom… using a projector.

Recently, a photo of a couple of students, who were wearing Pramuka (scouts) uniforms, engaging in communal porn screening in what appears to be an otherwise empty classroom went viral in Indonesia, raising concerns about children being exposed to pornography, which is one of the main justifications for Indonesia’s oppressive anti-pornography law.

Though the exact location of the photo is not yet known, many believe it was taken at a high school somewhere in the Greater Jakarta Area. As such, the Jakarta Education Board said they have received information about the viral photo and have promised an investigation into the matter.

“I have spoken to the relevant department head regarding the investigation, we will track down where (the photo was taken),” said Jakarta Education Board deputy head Bowo Irianto, as quoted by Tempo yesterday.

Netizens are speculating online that the photo could either have been taken at a high school in Depok, leading to a police investigation in the satellite city, or the SMAN 11 high school in East Jakarta.

However, the principal of SMAN 11 has threatened to report people people accusing his school of allowing pornography for criminal defamation.

“I refuse (the accusations) because we are teachers who have worked hard to guide our students, (we don’t deserve) to be treated like this,” said SMAN 11 principal Marihot Malau, as quoted by Detik yesterday.

Under Indonesia’s strict but vaguely worded anti-pornography law, spreading or exhibiting content deemed as pornography is punishable by up to 12 years in prison for adults. Children, however, are less likely to face harsh sentences, with minors convicted of crimes like this usually getting off with warnings.
