The Jakarta City Council’s (DPRD) Budgetary Body held an internal meeting today to investigate the Provincial Government’s 2015 Regional Budget (APBD) proposal.
The Budgetary Body claims they found ‘phantom funds’ of up to Rp 316 billion in Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama’s version of the proposal (curiously, the Ministry of Home Affairs previously said there were no irregularities in the proposal).
“There were only three province-owned enterprises (BUMD) that received government funding: PT MRT, Transjakarta, and Bank DKI. But looking at the document [the Provincial Government] gave to the Ministry of Home Affairs, there were BUMDs that were never discussed that appeared in the proposal. This is what should be called ‘phantom funds,’” said head of the DPRD Budgetary Body Prasetyo Edi Marsudi today, as quoted by Vivanews.
“80% of the [proposal] to the Ministry of Home Affairs was never proposed [to the DPRD] and discussed. That should be questioned.”
The DPRD may be planning to question the executives of the BUMDs involved in the future so they can explain about the so-called “phantom funds” in the APBD.
