Eva Kusuma Sundari is a renowned lawmaker for the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) and a member of the House of Parliament (DPR). But, if you believe Wikipedia (which you shouldn’t always do because anyone can edit most things in there), she’s apparently a Brazilian porn star.
Since yesterday, a search for Eva’s name on Google in Bahasa Indonesia would produce a result showing a Wikipedia summary card on the right. In it, somebody had edited Eva’s information to say that she’s a member of BRAZZERS.com representing MILFs from Brazil, as seen in the screenshot above.
Eva was understandably miffed about this, and she says she’s planning on getting in touch with Wikipedia to demand an explanation.
“I will take this forward, I will demand a special report and protest to Wikipedia so they do that. There’s no way I’d feature in a porn site, I’ve never even consumed [porn]. There’s no track record,” Eva told Detik yesterday.
“Because this has harmed me, I will demand from Wikipedia information on the culprit and I will report them to the police.”
As of this morning, the Wikipedia summary card on Eva still provides false information as above. However, there doesn’t seem to be anything amiss with the actual article on Eva in Wikipedia’s page.
Under Indonesia’s Information and Electronic Transactions Act (UU ITE), online defamation may be punishable by up to four years in prison.
