A doctor in Semarang, Central Java was sentenced to six months in prison today for indecency — and being downright gross.
The sentence was handed to Doddy Prasetyo by the Semarang District Court this morning, after the doctor was found guilty of violating Article 281 of the Criminal Code (KUHP) on immorality.
Doddy rented a house with a colleague and his wife in 2020. In October of that year, the female victim said she first became suspicious that her and her husband’s food had been tampered with when she noticed that their food cover had been moved when they weren’t around.
The victim then set up hidden cameras in the house, and acquired video footage of the alleged perpetrator peeping at her while in the shower before masturbating and ejaculating onto her and her husband’s meals.
The Central Java Legal Resources Center for Gender Equality and Human Rights (LRC-KJHAM), who has represented the victim throughout Doddy’s trial, is planning an appeal against the sentence.
“We appreciate the judge’s decision, but we’re not satisfied because the maximum punishment for violation of Article 281 of KUHP is two years and eight months in prison,” LRC-KJHAM’s Nia Lishayati said today.
