Are you ready to empty your wallet for the chance to see the GOAT that is Lionel Messi take to the pitch on Indonesian soil? Because ticket prices to the Indonesia vs Argentina friendly match have just been announced, and they are far steeper than your regular local league game.

The match will take place on June 19 at the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Stadium in Jakarta. It will be the first time that the two teams will face each other on the pitch, and also the first time that Indonesia will host the reigning World Cup champions.

But don’t expect to get a bargain for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The PSSI (Indonesian Football Association) announced today that the ticket prices will range from IDR600,000 (US$40) for the nosebleed seats at the mega stadium to IDR4.25 million (US$284) for the VIP seats. In between, there are Category II tickets at IDR1.2 million (US$80) apiece and Category I tickets at IDR2.5 million (US$267) apiece.

“We will begin ticket sales on June 5 especially for BRI card holders, and then June 6 and 7 for the general public,” PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir said in a press conference today.

“We will sell 60 thousand tickets. They will be available via the PSSI website or tiket.com. The match will kick off at 7:30pm.”

Those concerned that Messi would not feature in the ultimately meaningless match breathed a sigh of relief when the seven-time Ballon D’Or winner was named in Argentina’s 27-man squad for the friendlies with Indonesia and Australia on June 14.
