The fake document supposedly shows all the clubs, spas and kos-kosaans BNN is planning to raid in December
Some of you may have recently seen a document being spread through social media that supposedly comes from National Narcotic Agency (BNN) and lists a large number of nightclubs, spas and even some kos-kosaans (boarding houses) throughout Jakarta that BNN and the police were planning to razia (raid) throughout the month of December.
The list pretty much covers the entire spectrum of Jakarta nightlife, from super shady clubs up near Kota such as Illegals and Mille’s to super high-end clubs down south like Empirica and Immigrant. The fact that those kinds of places could also be on the list (as well as some like Red Eye Club that have been closed for a while) caused us to be fairly suspicious of its veracity, despite the very official looking stamp at the bottom of the page.
It turns out our suspicions were justified. Today, BNN announced that that the document was indeed a fake.
“We inform you that if you received a document saying that there will be [joint raid operations by BNN and the Jakarta Police this December], know it is not true,” explained BNN Head of Public Relations Commissioner Slamet today as quoted by Detik .
Nonetheless, just because this document has been declared a fake doesn’t mean that some of these places might not be raided by BNN in the near future. So be careful with your end of the year partying peeps!
