Last week, the Commission for the Protection of Indonesian Children (KPAI) received reports of a possible child sexual abuse case at an international school in Jakarta. That school was revealed to be HighScope Indonesia in Jalan TB Simatupang, South Jakarta.
But HighScope denied any allegations that a child was sexually abused in the school.
Jossy Soenarjo, Chief of Academic Operations at HighScope, said the school also received the child sexual abuse report on the evening of March 17, 2015.
She claimed the school’s representatives met with the child’s parents and took the child to Siloam Hospital for medical examinations.
“From the examinations, it was temporarily concluded that there were no indications of sexual abuse. According to the parents’ report and the medical examination at Siloam Hospital, the student never complained of pain in the anus, so the doctor never examined the anus,” Jossy said, as quoted by Vivanews today.
The school also investigated staff members and CCTV camera footage from the school, which also led to their conclusion that the child wasn’t sexually abused in school.
They’ve handed over the CCTV footage to the police and made themselves available for any investigation.
