Fans of the blue robot cat from Japan will be able to enjoy an exhibition based on the anime character Doraemon in Jakarta. The character’s license owner, Japanese company Animation International, will hold a 100-day long Doraemon exhibition in Ancol Beach City Mall, North Jakarta, from November 28, 2014 to March 8, 2015.

“For the first time ever, Doraemon will be in Jakarta to give a whole new experience. We hope fans can appreciate Doraemon away from the TV screens,” said Animation International Indonesia Country Manager Lynard Longcop at a press conference in Grand Indonesia on Tuesday.

There will be 100 human-sized statues of Doraemon in the exhibition. The statues will also depict Doraemon’s transformation from his initial yellow body to the current blue.

“The statues will be brought over from Japan, and Jakarta is one of the destinations of a roadshow event in Asia,” said Animation International Indonesia Representative Helena Irma.

Doraemon is a comic character created by Fujiko F. Fujio in Japan. The exhibition will also show off many of Doraemon’s resourceful gadgets from the future, like his ‘bamboo-copter’ and ‘anywhere door’.

There will be games and merchandise for Doraemon fans at the exhibition. Tickets will be sold at Rp 90,000 for adults and Rp 55,000 for children.
