Last Friday, President elect Jokowi asked Indonesians to remember which lawmakers and parties were responsible for taking away the people right to vote for their regional leaders by voting for (or not voting against) the RUU Pilkada bill, saying, “People must make a note, which political parties have robbed them of their political rights, people must write them down.”
Well it took a little while to get all the names, but the good folks at @WikiDPR took note and wrote down the names of every returning DPR member and how they came down ono RUU Pilkada, whether they voted for pilkada langsung oleh rakyat (direct elections by the people) or pilkada oleh DPRD (indirect election by regional legislative council) or if they just walked out in a massive betrayal of the people’s trust.
Whether or not the Constitutional Court allows RUU Pilkada to be passed, be sure to keep this list on reference the next time you need to remember which politicians actually support democracy in Indonesia.
