Rio Haryanto made a lot of Indonesians proud after last week’s announcement that he was to become the first ever Formula One racing driver from Indonesia.
Now Indonesian designers have the opportunity to put their stamp on the historic moment when Rio drives his Manor racer in the upcoming F1 season by designing the 23-year-old’s logo.
Through his official fan page on Facebook, Rio called on his fans to help him design his new racing logo through a contest.
The rules are simple: designers must include the number 88 and the initials ‘RH’ in the logo and post their entries as a comment to the above Facebook post. There’s no limit as to how many entries one participant is allowed to submit and the competition shuts at 11:59PM on March 2nd.
Rio himself will choose the best logo design.
There is no physical or financial prize to speak of for the winner, but the winning design will be seen by millions around the globe as it will be plastered on Rio’s F1 car. The winner will also get the chance to meet Rio in person.
The current entries look quite uninspiring and rushed in general. But to be fair, the contest has only been open for a couple of hours at the time of writing, so we expect to see a lot more amazing designs being posted over the next week.
That said, we really dig some of these entries so far:

The new F1 season gets underway in Melbourne on March 20th. Hopefully we’ll see one of your designs proudly displayed on Rio’s car.
