We’ll leave it to you to count exactly how many times Governor Ahok says “tahi” (“shit”) in this video
Jakarta Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja caused a rather messy controversy during a live televised interview with Kompas TV on Tuesday evening. The outspoken governor said a naughty word not once, but several times during the interview.
Ahok was being interviewed about the ongoing feud between the Provincial Government and the Jakarta City Council regarding corruption allegations involving the Jakarta Regional Budget (APBD).
Without holding back, Ahok angrily told the interviewer exactly what he thought of the city’s councilors: that they are a bunch of “tahi” (“shits”) and cowards for trying to drag his wife, Veronica Tan, into the APBD scuffle.
It’s not like Ahok didn’t realize the interview was being broadcasted live – the interviewer Aiman Wicaksono tried to calm him down and remind him of that fact, but to no avail.
But what was it that really ticked off Ahok that he said “shit” several times in that interview? According to the governor, he was particularly irked by Aiman’s pushy questioning method.
“He was stubborn, he asked and I answered, but he was still stubborn. I explained it to him but he kept asking. And then he reminded me it was broadcasted live. I deliberately [swore], that’s what you get if you broadcast live with me,” Ahok said, as quoted by Detik.
We know Governor Ahok can be very outspoken, but did he cross the line this time with this outburst?
