Governor Ahok is calling on motivated young people to become his intern

Ever wondered what it would be like to work for our no-nonsense, badass governor?

Well, Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama has opened the opportunity to young professionals and university students to do just that by taking part in an internship program at City Hall.

This isn’t just the kind of internship where all you’d do is sit in the corner and only gets up to get fetch coffee for your boss. Ahok says his intern would actually work right by his side most of the time.

“The intern can learn about leadership by sitting in every one of the governor’s meetings and monitoring the government’s main programs,” Ahok wrote to Tempo yesterday.

Ahok added that he wants motivated young people to apply for the internship. They must work voluntarily and possess the drive to work proactively and independently.

The program will run for 10 weeks, starting on October 5 and ending on December 11. That should hopefully be enough time for Ahok to mold the young interns into awesome future leaders this country needs.

Candidates must also write a 500-word essay on one of three topics: why they want to take part in the internship, pitching a program for Jakarta or evaluating a current Jakarta government program.

Applications can be sent to michael.sianipar@gmail.com and ahokbtp@gmail.com with the subject containing “(First Name) (Surname)_Aplikasi Magang Kantor Gubernur DKI”.
