Go-Jek teams up with Apotik Antar to launch medicine delivery service Go-Med

Jakartans have plenty of reasons to appreciate app-based motorcycle taxi services like Go-Jek for the convenience they bring to our lives. Now, in addition to their staple features like personal rides, food and package deliveries, Go-Jek can also deliver medicine to your door.

Go-Jek has teamed up with Apotik Antar to launch Go-Med, a medicine delivery service which you can find within the Go-Jek app. Apotik Antar was previously a stand-alone online medicine delivery service itself, but it should now have much greater reach after partnering up with Go-Jek.

Here’s an instructional video on how to use Go-Med (in Bahasa Indonesia):

The way the app works is pretty much the same as Apotik Antar’s old app. Users can either order over the counter medicine or even prescription drugs (as long as the doctor’s prescription is photographed via the app) and simply wait for a Go-Jek driver to deliver the order to the user’s location and pay them the cost of the medicine plus the delivery fee if applicable. Just like Go-Jek’s food delivery service, the driver will cover the bill at the drug store first.

All of the medicine available in Go-Med comes from over 1,000 licensed drug stores. Go-Med is currently available in the Jabodetabek area, as well as Bandung, Bali, Makassar, Surabaya, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Medan, Balikpapan and Palembang. The feature will automatically appear in the latest update of the Go-Jek app.
